The History of Captain Ann Flynte

Flynte’s real name is Pambookjian. Her father was the rich Armenian  merchant Neshan who was quite predominate in the shipping industry with several vessels of his own.

On one of these voyages, he was on his way to India to trade  rich fabric and  gems with the sheik. One of his passengers was a beautiful Italian woman called  Erlene Rena Denaro who caught his eye.

Erlene and Neshan fell deeply in love on this voyage and were married when they got to India. Erlene would accompany Neshan on many of his voyages. One day Erlene found out she was with child and decided to go back to Italy to her family home to have her baby. When delivering she found out she was having twin girls. Both girls were beautiful dark haired dark eyed children. One was named Anna Maria and the other Rena Maria.

Rena Maria was a very proper lady growing up and attended all the high functions of the nobility of Italy.  She was like her mother who was use to the spoils of nobility. At age eighteen she decided to take her mother maiden name of Denaro.

Anna Maria on the other hand was like her father. She spent many a day with her father learning the ship and all the functions. Her fondness of the sea grew as she grew. As her father grew older Anna began taking on the responsibilities of running her father’s shipping business. She was said to be as good as any sailor. She treated her crew with fairness but also ruled with a firm hand.

One day while representing her father’s interest on the ship Quedagh Merchant, the ship was under attack by William Kidd’s ship the Adventure Galley. The merchant ship was out gunned and was boarded by Kidd. Kidd’s own ship had succumbed to sea worms and began leaking. He decided to take the Quedagh Merchant as his new ship and placed the crew and investors overboard in the ships dingy.

Anna had the crew row over to the Adventure Galley to access the damage hoping it was sea worthy enough to sail to a near by port. As fortune had it, it was.

Anna had then made the decision to change her name to Captain Ann Flynte and vowed to see Kidd hang. She then sailed to a nearby port and had the ship repaired enough so she could sail to England. While in England Anna met with King William III and told of her plight. She was then granted a letter of marque to be the king’s pirate hunter. She then renamed the ship The Black Rose II.

While in port she met a young fellow of noble stature, Charles Edward Keniston. She asked him to accompany her on her adventures as her first mate. He accepted taking on the name of Charles GreyLocke.

Then their adventures began.
